I would rather write about others, but for the record...just a little about me....
I specialize in writing nonfiction books and have a love for historical accounts of Ghosts, Pirates, Indians, and the Colonial North Carolina history, especially in southeastern North Carolina. I began my writing career researching my family genealogy....the Faircloth Family History and was introduced to a world of historical documents describing our past. This, coupled with my experience in search and rescue, led to a keen interest in documenting our historical past.
I began by spending 25 years working on our family genealogy. My daughter and I spent many hours in libraries across the state perusing microfilm, long before the computer allowed access to these colonial records. Somehow, I gained an appreciation for the past and those ancestors who walked before us.
I have also worked for many years as a search and rescue dog handler, and part of that job involves being in the wooded and remote areas of our state. This has led to my keen interest in the lives of those who came before us. A few cases, a few cemeteries, a few Last Will and Testaments, and I found myself learning about those who settled our area and state. After telling these stories to others, I was encouraged to "write it down." This is how many of my books came to be. One led to the next in a natural progression of experiences and topics. Many can create a book in their minds and just write it down. My books are a result of my life experiences and interests....they create themselves. I am just a vehicle to document the information and share it with others. My works primarily include books regarding the history of dogs, spaniels in particular, the history of southeastern North Carolina, family genealogy, and search and rescue. They are the results of my SAR experiences and dedication to preserving our past. I hope you enjoy.
